I grew up in the gritty streets of Brooklyn Ny, around hustlers, ball players and just everyday grinders. I was born on June 9, 1989 to a Jamaican hustling father and a hardworking Panamanian mother. Like every cliche my father hung around till I was about 1 years old. I had a large strong family of Uncles and Aunts to fill that void. Family was everything I needed to excel through the tough streets of New York. At the age of 18 I decided that the only way out was to join the Marines. I had found myself fighting Gang Members and grown man just to demand respect . After 2 years of my tour in Japan I got stationed in California. While in California i rediscovered my passion for music. I began freestyling and recording myself to the point where music became apart of me.
Even though Hip Hop has always been my passion, I grew up listening to a wide selection of music ranging from Salsa to Reggae and of course the Hip Hop greats. Tupac, Biggie, Jay Z, Naz and Jadakiss were my introduction to hip hop and were major story Artist telling stories of the life I’ve witnessed. In my younger years I played with the idea of rhyming and making music but it wasn’t until I finished my tour in Japan and came back to the States that I begin to lyrically evolve and play with words, sounds and melodies, which is now the music that tells the story of my life.
In 2012 I dropped my first studio recorded- self titled album called “Don P” it was me testing the waters, developing a style and to be honest I enjoyed every moment of it. Then in 2013 I dropped my sophomore called “Deprogrammed” it was a much more personal Album going into my
beliefs about my experiences in the military and in everyday life.
Now in the summer of 2014 I am in route to drop my 3rd independent album called “Real is the new fake” also known as #RITNF telling my version of what its like trying to come up in the game, trials and tribulations and understanding what it is to survive in this industry.
During my grind I’ve accomplished so much on my own. I’ve traveled to multiple cities and done over 100 shows, I’ve opened up for LA recording artist Problem and have had the privilege to have a featured verse with San Diego own Mitchy Slick. I have traveled to Atlanta, New York, LA, the Bay and Vegas in attempt to expand my brand. I have had the pleasure of reaching thousands of fans overseas and all over the United States, I am truly blessed and the sky's the limit of where I will be years from now.
